Offset Printing

The offset printing industry is rapidly changing and most of the technological advancements are in prepress. The computer to plate process has improved turnaround while still providing the highest level of quality. Offset is the most economical solution for longer run lengths; however, if critical color is required, it may be used for short runs. Gold Standard offers several offset options (five, four and two color presses) and is committed to delivering the highest level of quality.

Digital Printing

In the digital world the speed of black laser imaging has increased to 180 images per minute. Speed combined with 600 dots per inch imaging (which provides better graphics, photos and halftones) allows for faster turnaround without sacrificing quality. Full color lasers now provide speeds up to 100 impressions per minute and quality approaching offset Standards. Gold Standard has Xerox’s latest technology in black and full color lasers and believes these systems are best suited for short run jobs that require fast turnaround or have many originals. Most of Gold Standard's digital products also have on-line finishing accessories (i.e. collating, stapling and tape binding) which further address the quick turnaround issues complicating today’s job requirements.

Hybrid Printing

The printing industry is experiencing an increase in hybrid applications: offset printing integrated with digital printing. Static information (information that rarely changes) can be run on offset presses which then can be combined with digital printing (information that changes more frequently). This very publication is an example of a hybrid application. By combining the two technologies, you reduce cost, control obsolescence and have more flexibility than ever. Gold Standard offers hybrid printing, providing you with a single vendor that effectively implements both offset and digital methods.
